Two of Australia's top entertainment arenas have been named as the world's best venues in Venues Today's list of 'Top Stops' for 2012.
The Brisbane Entertainment Centre has amazingly been ranked the number one venue in the world in the 10,000-15,000 capacity ahead of 02 World in Hamburg, Vector Arena Auckland and the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
Sydney's Allphones Arena was also ranked number four in the 15,001-30,000 capacity category behind O2 Arena London, Staples Centre Los Angeles and Bell Centre Montreal.
The 'Top Stops' report is generated by ranking the top grossing buildings and events worldwide by ticket sales and the two Australian arenas were up against the top 100 venues in the world.
In the last year the two venues have hosted concerts and events from a diverse array of entertainers with the biggest sellers being Roger Waters, Rod Stewart, Roxette, Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, How To Train Your Dragon, John Fogerty, Prince, Lady Gaga, Disney on Ice, Beach Boys, Matchbox Twenty, Radiohead, UFC, NKOTBSB, WWE and Pitbull.
In the coming months the arenas will host acts including Nickelback, Elton John, Roller Derby Extreme, J-Lo, The Wiggles, Keith Urban, André Rieu, Celtic Thunder, Neil Young, The Script, P!nk and One Direction.
Both Australian venues are owned by AEG Ogden’s arena network, which also includes Newcastle Entertainment Centre and the newly opened Perth Arena.
