Willkommen (Welcome) To Oktoberfest Brisbane

Oktoberfest

Can’t make it to Munich for the annual beer drinking celebrations? No worries, Brisbane has you covered.

This year marks the seventh Oktoberfest Brisbane, Australia’s largest German festival — it's Brisbane’s most anticipated cultural event (and pretty easy to see why). With the amount of attention to detail, it’s easy to forget you’re walking through the streets of Bowen Hills.

Oktoberfest1With authentic German trimmings from floor to ceiling, the Bavarian Oktoberfest Band is being flown in direct from Munich so you can dance the night away. With traditional German sausages, desserts, pretzels and more, you can gorge yourself silly.

Yodellers, German dancers, leg-slappers and cowbell ringers will be there to entertain folks throughout the festival. Or you might like to entertain yourself by entering the Miss Oktoberfest Competition, Bavarian Strongmen Competition, or show off your beard to take out the Beardmeister title.

OktoberfestYou can even bring the kids on Sunday and enjoy family fun day with activities, face painting, rides, a puppet show and even a petting zoo. So don your traditional German lederhosen or dirndl, grab a pint of beer and embrace the atmosphere of Germany, right here in your own backyard.

Oktoberfest Brisbane is on over two weekends, Oct 10-12 and Oct 17-19.
