Sydney Stages Its First Vegan Festival

Vegan Festival

Animal lovers and health nuts, rejoice! Sydney's first ever Vegan Festival kicks off in Marrickville this March with a jam packed line-up that features food stalls, live music and talks from a number of well known vegan chefs and speakers.

Brooklyn chef Isa Moskovitz headlines the festival with an exclusive cooking demonstration. Founder of popular vegan baking and cookering website, Post Punk Kitchen, Isa is also a successful food writer and comes to Australia in support of her latest book, Isa Does It: Amazingly Easy, Wildly Delicious Vegan Recipes for Every Day of the Week.

Fellow vegan and Veganomicon author Terry Hope Romero also visits to Sydney for the inaugural festival and will stage a cooking demonstration as well as an audience Q&A. Meanwhile the Vegan Black Metal Chef introduces Australia to his unique style of vegan cooking with a show that combines heavy metal and vegan recipes.

Local vegan voices including Maz Valcorza Pugoy, founder of organic and raw foods cafe, Sadhana Kitchen also join the festival line up while bloggers Kathy Divine and Megan Young talk about their journeys as vegans.

Sydney Vegan Festival also stages two sideshows in Brisbane and Melbourne, which feature demonstrations and talks from Moskovitz, Romero and the Vegan Black Metal Chef.

Sydney Vegan Festival is on Saturday March 29 at The Factory Theatre, Marrickville. Sideshows run on Wednesday March 26 at The Corner Hotel, Melbourne and Sunday March 30 at Crowbar, Brisbane.
