Riverbend Books & Teahouse have thought of some ways for you to acclimatise to the increasingly cold weather, with numerous events to take place on their renowned deck over the next couple of months.
One to keep an eye out for in particular is the Bright Young Things Club (BYT) featuring guest author Kristy Chambers, who has penned an insightful and funny memoir, Get Well Soon, about her adventures as a nurse.
BYT is a platform for budding writers to share their work with each other, with the opportunity for mentorship and possible publication in UQ's flagship literary site, bumf. It will also feature other guest authors and songwriters, Q&As, discussions about books that changed the guests' lives, literary trivia and games, and a writing tasks according to each month's theme.
Perhaps most importantly, there'll also be cheap beer and pizza available at the bar.
Chambers' BYT event takes place on Wednesday June 19; book at riverbendbooks.com.au.
