Moustaches have sprouted up on the streets of Melbourne and Brisbane, as Movember and Getty Images join forces to bring you an inspirational gallery of man made Mo’s.
‘Made In Movember: Supported By Getty Images’ is an outdoor exhibition appearing in the lead-up to the 1st November. Featuring 20 portraits of moustachioed men from around the globe, the exhibition boasts a broad range of images provided by Getty Images; from Jimi Hendrix, Nick Cave and Salvador Dali to the man next door, demonstrating that under the Mo we are all one and that the moustache maketh the man.
The exhibition is unveiled as Movember counts down to the 1st November, the day on which Mo Bros (men who grow a Mo) supported by their Mo Sistas (women who love a Mo) sign up at movember.com and start the month clean shaven and then donate their faces for the next 30 days by growing the best moustache they can muster.
Each Mo prompts conversation, and each Mo Bro effectively becomes a walking, billboard for men’s health – just like the noble men whose Mo’s are on display this October. “What we make and do in life defines us,” says Movember spokesperson, Tom Betts. “This year’s campaign – Made in Movember – focuses upon makers, thinkers, growers and doers. Mo Bros and Mo Sistas will be making a difference by getting people to think about their health by growing, or supporting the growth of a moustache and doing something about the state of men’s health.”
The exhibitions will run from Friday 10th October until Sunday 2nd November at the Brisbane Powerhouse Museum and The Coopers Malthouse Theatre.
