Brisbane Supanova Line-up Announced

Supanova

The expanded line-up of Supa-Stars for this year's Supanova Pop Culture Expo is squarely targeted at classic film and TV buffs.

The new additions are headlined by Richard Kiel, who played the unforgettable Bond villain Jaws in The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker. He also made a memorable appearance in Happy Gilmore as the mammoth Mr Larson, and played TV's Incredible Hulk for one scene when Lou Ferrigno was unavailable. True story.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner will take nostalgic fans back to the '80s, when he starred as Theo Huxtable for eight years on The Cosby Show (Warner was hand-picked for the role by Bill Cosby himself, who — despite internet rumours to the contrary — is very much still alive). More recently, he was a regular on post-apocalytic sci-fi series Jeremiah (with previously announced guest Luke Perry) as Kurdy Malloy and post-modern comedy Community as Andre Bennett.

Cult TV horror hostess Cassandra Peterson — much better known as 'Elvira, Mistress of the Dark' — is the next cab off the rank. Cassandra will appear as herself on Sunday, and as Elvira — complete with raven locks, pale makeup, and plunging neckline (yes, she is 60 years old, why do you ask?) — on Sunday.

B-movie auteur Larry Cohen, director of over 20 films (including the untouchable Maniac Cop) and writer of almost 80 produced screenplays, will also be in attendance with Laurene Landon, who's starred in more than her fair share of Cohen films.

For younger fans, Harry Potter trio Chris Rankin, Alfie Enoch and William Melling — who featured as Percy Weasley, Dean Thomas and Nigel Wolpert — will be in the building, as will best-selling author Rachel Caine (of Morganville Vampires fame).

They'll join previously announced stars Luke Perry (Beverly Hills 90210), James Marsters (Buffy), Felicia Day (The Guild), Nelsan Ellis (True Blood), Gareth David-Lloyd (Torchwood), Billy West (Futurama), Vic Mignogna (Full Metal Alchemist), as well as comic book creators Howard Chaykin (American Flagg), Shane Davis (Superman: Earth One), Tom Taylor (Star Wars) and more.

Supanova 2012 runs from November 9-11 at the RNA Showgrounds.
