The company behind FOMO Festival has been placed into liquidation.
FOMO Festival Pty Ltd was placed into liquidation – seemingly bypassing any administration phase altogether – on 15th May. The appointment of Kathleen Vouris of Hall Chadwick comes just 10 months after another entity associated with FOMO, We Are BBE Pty Ltd, was wound up in July 2019.
FOMO was launched in Brisbane (Riverstage) in 2016 with a more than respectable line-up featuring RL Grime, Flight Facilities, Jamie xx, Boys Noize, Skepta, Mr. Carmack, KeysNKrates, Tkay Maidza, Anna Lunoe, Benson and UV Boi.
The event expanded to Sydney and Adelaide in 2017. There was concern in Adelaide that year when a 16-year old girl in the crowd was crushed and rushed to hospital by helicopter. Post Malone, who was performing at the time saw the trouble from the stage and stopped his performance urging fans to step back pleading, "Somebody’s hurt at front” [full article].
FOMO 'By Night' in Melbourne was added in 2018.
