Click on Decryptus' bio and it reads a little something like this:
Deep in the primeval rainforests of northern NSW Australia, in the ancient caldera of the tweed valley, five likeminded individuals: Will Magnusson, Adam Wainwright, Dom Zambelli, Sam Phillips and Dane McKenzie came together to create a chaotic hybrid of thrash, death and hardcore. Combining these elements they created music of brutality, groove and aggression, this was when Decryptus was born.
With that in mind, we asked the band to supply a Top 5; with the subject matter determined by the band. We didn't imagine the band would be afflicted by mad cows disease. “Hang out at our bass player’s farm near Nimbin during pre-production we got acquainted with the local cows that frequent the area.
"We noticed that some cows seemed to like a particular style of music more than others so we compiled a list of our top 5 cows/ musical tastes."
Viking/ Folk Metal
This guy really got into his Viking/ folk metal.
Dance/ Psychedelic Trance
This guy seemed to frequent the local magic mushroom patch and really dig his dance/ psychedelic trance, and was also know to roll around in the mud after a particularly intense set.
Black Metal
This cow was really into the blackest of the black Scandinavian black metal and would turn his nose up at anything else saying it wasn’t cvlt enough. Also a suspect in the local barn burnings.
Top 40
This cow only seemed to like Top 40/ pop music and seemed oblivious to any other style of music.
Party
And this cow knew how to party. Always hanging around when we played some old-school thrash metal. He was constantly getting into the fermented molasses getting drunk trashing stuff and passing out.
