Why We Don’t Have Soundwave '16 Line-up Yet

Moose Blood

Just Announced: A ninth band, British emo/punk/rockers Moose Blood, have been added to the line-up.

With only nine bands thus far on the Soundwave '16 list we are left wondering what the hell is going on in the Soundwave camp. Has promoter AJ Muddah gone on holidays? Possibly doing shots at a bar side pool on some remote island? Coffee shots of course... Nah, he’s waiting on two more acts to lock in! One of them being Japanese Metal/ J-Pop girl band, Babymetal, or so he says on Twitter:

Although Babymetal would be cool to see, and it would give the carnival a little edge, I don’t think they have the pulling power of a headlining act. Nor do already confirmed bands: Bring Me The Horizon, Northlane, Refused, Failure, Dead Letter Circus, Bullet For My Valentine, Lordi, Moose Blood and the supergroup Devil You Know.

So, who’s going to be the one mega-monster act to top them all? We still have 30+ plus acts to be announced. And apparently it will only take one headliner to fill the venue.

There aren’t that many bands on earth who have a confidence factor like that! Especially metal bands. Let's see AC/DC? Nah, they are coming in December. Limp Bizkit? Nope, AJ's knocked them out. U.K monsters: Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden? No dice, they have already announced tours next year. Led Zeppelin, Guns N Roses? Keep dreamin' mate.

Maybe Lamb Of God or Bring Me The Horizon would have what it takes... But, I don't think so.

Have a gander at this idea:
Recently headlining Reading, Leeds and Lollapalooza festivals and are now hard at work on their 10th studio album is Metallica. The album could be finished by the end of January. Some people have rumoured them completely out. I reckon there’s still a chance they will be the ones to rule them all.

And, what about Slayer? Sorry, I meant f’n SLAYER!!!! They have a killer new album out. I would consider them definite contenders for sure! Soundwave themselves promoted the album on their Facebook page.

Slayer band have a new album on the way! Here's the first taste.#SW16?

Another possibility is Anthrax.
That would mean if Metallica and Slayer are on board, we would have the 'The Big Three'. Megadeth's touring Australia in October for their new album that will be released on 2 October. Could they come all the way back again in January to make it 'The Big Four'???

Some other possibilities are:

Amity Affliction
Body Count
Iced Earth
Iggy Pop (but doubt it)
Killswitch Engage
Five Finger Death Punch
Chelsea Grin
Volbeat
Fozzy
Lamb Of God (again)
Ghost
Trivium

Manowar has been ruled out. Damn it.

Another reason why:
Another reason we might be lacking line-up information is due to the former operating company name has gone into voluntary administration (basically means they have unpaid bills up the wazoo). Apparently AJ Muddah said this won’t effect the 2016 festival, it will go ahead as planned. Hopefully, he can make enough dough out of it to pay the debts and keep the festival running into the year.
