Triple J's Maggie Collins Revealed As Guest MC At South Australian Music Awards

BIGSOUND programmer, triple j Unearthed presenter and band manager, Maggie Collins has been revealed as a guest MC for this month's South Australian Music Awards (SAM Awards).


Maggie will join multi-instrumentalist Adam Page to present the award ceremony. “I can't wait to join the legends of the amazing South Australian music scene who are absolute- ly killing it,” Maggie says. “It's going to be awesome to see performances from such a diverse range of artists, and celebrate the achievements of a sturdy community of music-makers.”

Music SA have also announced that performances on the night will include Best Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Artist and Best New Artist nominees Electric Fields and Best Release, Best Female, Best New Artist and Most Popular Pop Artist nominee MANE.



The night will wrap up with the Derringers Adelaide All-Star band, assembled by Musical Director Ross McHenry (Shaolin Afronauts, The Transatlantics), and will feature an eight-piece band including string quartet, thirteen-member choir and special guests including Bad//Dreems, Taasha Coates (The Audreys), Jesse Davidson, Oisima, Rin McArdle, Dusty Lee, Naomi Keyte, Kelly Menhennett, Koolta, Billy Bob, Snooks La Vie and many more.

The SAM Awards will take a more formal feel this year; the 400 guests will be treated to a sit down three course meal, which is the first of its kind in the history of the awards.

The winners will be announced at the official award ceremony held at The Norwood Concert Hall on 11 November.
