A bright, exuberant melody bursts forward from 'Waste A Day', the new single from Aussie rockers The Rubens – the first song brothers Sam, Elliott and Zaac Margin have ever co-written together.
Its infectious rhythm wraps itself around your ears, its warm embrace activating the dance feels inside your body as you bop along to lyrics that propel you towards positivity."Every day has the potential to be a good day. Squeeze what you can from it," the band says of 'Waste A Day', which came to life right at the end of the recording their 2021 album, the ARIA #1 '0202'.
With their 2020-2021 live dates postponed over and over, The Rubens plan to spend a large chunk of 2022 reacquainting themselves with their fans with a massive 26-date national tour encompassing capital cities and a host of regional centres too to take place February through April.
"In celebration of our new single 'Waste A Day', we've added 15 more dates to our rescheduled shows from 2020/ 2021 to create the 'Waste A Day' tour. These are gonna be special."
The Rubens have also curated their very own hone-town festival with ValleyWays to take place in Camden in February featuring Skegss, Middle Kids, Slowly Slowly and a stack more joining the hosts on stage.
2022 marks the 10th anniversary of The Rubens' self-titled debut album (which spawned the hits 'Lay It Down', 'The Best We Got', 'My Gun').
The Rubens will also join Vance Joy at select dates on his Australian tour in the second half of 2022.
