Set to feature 100 hours of live music across the Gold Coast (3-13 December), summer's newest festival Feedback Festival is upping the ante with its next wave of headline acts.
Aussie pub-rock larrikins The Chats (who just dropped a classic tribute to AC/DC), electronic, synth-pop sibling duo Lastlings and surf-rock quartet The Oogars will each headline their own show.
Mo's Desert Clubhouse will feature two nights packed with live entertainment and food trucks dubbed The Golden Weekend, including Brisbane garage-pop three-piece BUGS and fellow Brisbane surf-rock band Shag Rock.
"We are so excited to be able to bring live music back to the people," Mo's Desert Clubhouse owner, Kimberly Ferguson says.
"It's a tough year for our industry and it is certainly not out of trouble yet, with limited capacity crippling venues Queensland wide, Feedback Festival will breathe some life into our spaces throughout the two weeks. We cannot wait to celebrate all things GC with our two-day event The Golden Weekend."
Other new additions include local pop-roots songwriter Smells Like Nanna's House, reggae-soul funksters Heavy Wax and psych four-piece Luja Murfi – who'll be the support act for The Oogars show at Miami Marketta.
The second line-up join a stack of other artists highlighted by Benny D Williams, Black Rabbit George, DENNIS., The Dreggs, Ella Fence, Felicity Lawless, Hussy Hicks, The Jensens, Karl S Williams, The Koi Boys, Peach Fur, Radolscent and Trichotomny (scroll down for the complete line-up).
With such a turbulent past few months, Feedback Festival offers local musicians and music lovers alike the opportunity to return to some semblance of the old normal, injecting some much needed culture in the process.
"Given the year we've all had, it feels pretty amazing that we get to celebrate in this capacity with so many amazing venues around the Gold Coast," Glenn Stewart from Vinnies says.
"We're thrilled to be a part of Feedback Festival and love working together on such an important event."
Feedback Festival will host a number of free events alongside tickets concerts. Tickets available now.
"These additions to the Feedback 2020 line-up illustrate not only the pulling power of Gold Coast live music venues, but the depth and diversity of our local musical talent," Gold Coast Music Advisory Group chair Dean Gould says.
"The challenge now to the city's music lovers is wrangling it so they can get along to as many of these performances as possible."
Feedback Festival takes place 3-13 December at ten Gold Coast venues.
