Did somebody say pop icon?

The world has seen her donning peppermints, lying in clouds of fairy floss, flirting with a gingerbread man, dressing as a cheeseburger at the Met Gala and being the centrepiece at a dinner table – and now, global pop superstar Katy Perry adds another food reference to her repertoire, as the new face of food delivery company Menulog.

In a brand-new teaser video, Menulog teases the upcoming campaign which will feature a pop version of the Menulog theme – a theme most will be familiar with through hip hop icon Snoop Dogg’s (who collaborated with Katy in 'California Gurls') time as the face of the brand.

“Working with Menulog was a really fun and natural experience. Coincidentally most of my records and eras have had food undertones to them, from strawberries to peppermints to now mushrooms,” Katy Perry says of the campaign.

“Ordering takeaway is a regular Saturday night for me, so it was fun to channel that into a video that is a combination of the things that bring joy to my life: poppy bright colours, wild outfits and food puns sung over a catchy tune.”

Katy Perry co-created the music and lyrics featured in the continuation of the ‘Did Somebody Say Menulog’ adverts.

The full advert will premiere as part of Channel Nine’s State Of Origin coverage on 8 June.
