Brisbane alternative rockers Alaina are starting to make waves; releasing 'Rain' earlier in the year the group return with new single 'I Am Not A Freak' - the latest track lifted from their forthcoming EP 'Homebound'.
'I Am Not A Freak' strongly hints at Silverchair and The Presidents of the United States of America influences. "I started writing 'I Am Not A Freak' six years ago after going through a rough break up," vocalist Ryan Valley says.
"It was a reflection piece on the journey from 'not feeling good enough' to understanding that we're all created differently.
"These days, this song (for me) is where I set the bar. I always try to challenge myself and 'I Am Not A Freak' was the most challenging to write, so the song is my strong arm, where I draw inspiration for future creations."

'I Am Not A Freak' is released commercially tomorrow (29 August), but Alaina have shared with scenestr the accompanying video clip to the new single to premiere today.
"For the listener, it is up to you to decide what this song means," Ryan says. "Being interpretable is the cornerstone of a great piece of music or any type of art and that's what we've tried to design for you.
"The fundamental message is one of understanding and not the type that makes you feel like you're getting better, but the type that leaves you feeling powerful as you are."
