'Passionate about true crime docos, the Swannies, golf and sleep, I’ve been writing about music for 20-plus years. What I’ve learnt? There’s two types of music – good and bad.’

Australia's only dedicated literary festival 'exploring the relationship between writing and music, and that special creative spark that exists between the two', A Rock & Roll Writers Festival has revealed a final announcement of speakers for its 2017 Brisbane event.

Speakers rounding out the sensational Brisbane programme include: Roger Shepherd (NZ), Adalita, Matt Noffs, Joel Birch, Brentley Frazer, Ngaiire, Kahl Wallis, Paul Barclay, Leah Cotterell, Rhianna Patrick, Bec Mac, Sarah Connor, Greg Arnold, Sally Breen, John Willsteed and David Burton.

They join the previously announced line-up: Holly George-Warren (USA), Nick Earls, Tim Rogers, Sophie Howarth, Hugo Race, Cash Savage, Mike Noga, Kirsty Eagar, Liam Pieper, Melissa Lucashenko, Peggy Frew, Iain Shedden, Larry Heath, Michael Dwyer, Rod Yates, Sosefina Fuamoli and Zan Rowe.

In other news, A Rock & Roll Writers Festival is going on the road in 2017, giving Melbourne a taste of the festival with a single day, four-panel sampler of the full festival on Sunday 9 April at Abbotsford Convent. The afternoon will feature a selection of speakers from this year’s main festival, plus some from 2016 – it’s like the full-weekend Brisbane programme, just condensed.

The second annual A Rock & Roll Writers Festival takes place at The Old Museum (Brisbane) 1-2 April.
