For the first time in six years, Scottish post-rock lords Mogwai return to Australia in 2024.
The Glaswegian (mostly) instrumental act who create mesmerising soundscapes that oscillate between soaring beauty and crushing noise, Mogwai will headline concerts in Brisbane, Hobart, Adelaide and Sydney next February, with dates in Victoria and Western Australia to be announced. The band's most recent record was UK #1 2021's 'As Love Continues' featuring the songs 'Ritchie Sacramento' and 'Dry Fantasy'.
Mogwai have released ten studio albums since making their debut in 1995; last month they rereleased on vinyl four records from their discography: 'Rock Action' (2001), 'Happy Songs For Happy People' (2003), 'Mr Beast' (2006) and 'The Hawk Is Howling' (2008).
The band have also recorded the soundtracks to several films and TV series, including 2020 series 'ZeroZeroZero' and 2022 series 'Black Bird'.
You may know what to expect from Mogwai, but you will never get the same. Mogwai are still offering solace from the mundane. They remain a transcendent soundtrack to whatever movie you are making in your head.
Tickets on sale from 10am (local time) on 6 October.
