American indie punks, Mannequin Pussy have extended their Australian visit.
Already slated to play Meredith Music Festival in early December, the Philadelphia band (known for their songs 'Romantic', 'Drunk II' and 'I Got Heaven') will headline gigs in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. "MP goes to Australia for the first time ever. . . 💋 💋 Thank you Meredith Festival for inviting us."In March, Mannequin Pussy released their newest album 'I Got Heaven', which was recorded with Grammy Award-winning producer John Congleton; alongside the title track, the LP also features 'Loud Bark', 'I Don't Know You' and 'Sometimes'.
"Honestly overwhelmed and full of immense gratitude to every single person who has ever supported or believed in the music and mission of this band," Mannequin Pussy posted on album release day.
Adds guitarist-vocalist Marisa Dabice: "We're supposed to be living in the freest era ever, so what it means to be a young person in this society is the freedom to challenge these systems that have been put on to us," says Dabice of the new album's themes.
"It makes sense to ask, what ultimately am I living for? What is it that makes me want to live?"
