Scenestr
Danger Den

Originally from Darwin, but now firmly entrenched in Melbourne's bustlin' pop-punk scene, Danger Den have the crocodile by the tail as they continue to build a following with their newest EP.

After sampling the 'It'll Be Alright' EP last month with the single 'Given' (which we were stoked to premiere) following the 2025 release of lead EP track 'Daisy' (that we also were thrilled to premiere), today, the infectious five-track project drops, bright with early 2000s pop-punk tones and soaked in joyous sing-alongs.

"The long awaited sequel of 'Pull Yourself Together' is finally here! Our latest EP 'It'll Be Alright' is out now 🚀🐶🚀! Produced, mixed and mastered by The Loud Noise Estate."

It's a collection of songs fans of All Time Low, Good Charlotte, Gyroscope, Jimmy Eat World, and Foo Fighters will enjoy.

"'Given' is about second chances and new beginnings," frontman-guitarist Jeremy Uyloan says. "It's written by our lead guitarist and vocalist James McGrath and he originally sang it in the demo."

Here, Jeremy shares some insights into the band ahead of a couple of Melbourne EP launch shows next month.

Who is... We are the young and up and coming pop-punk band called Danger Den. We are from Melbourne, Australia originally from Darwin.

We sound like... Blink-182 if they had three guitar players!

Our first gig was... Our first Melbourne gig was at the Bergy Bandroom in Brunswick back in October 2023.

It was a Thursday night and I remembered drinking a little one too many before playing, because I was so nervous since I haven't performed in such a long time. I ended up falling over and landing on the drum kit mid-song! I remember it like it was yesterday.

When did you settle on the group's name, and was it a unanimous decision... Me and my buddy from high school came up with that name actually.

It was our old Facebook group that we were in for hosting video game nights. We decided to call the band after that Facebook group because why not?!

In the studio we usually... Tune our guitars a lot because we don't own any guitars with an Evertune bridge.

If I could tour with anyone... It'd have to be Led Zeppelin, because how many bands of today can say that they've toured with Led Zeppelin?

Social media is... Annoying but a band can't survive without it, so we're forced to use it.

My favourite app at the moment is... My Notes app because I need help remembering things.

To date, my most embarrassing moment was the time... I fell on the drum kit at my first Melbourne gig, I'm still not over it!

Life on the road can be... Stressful, especially when things don't go as planned but really when does it ever go as planned?

If you'll have us on your bill, all we ask is that our rider contains... Guinness, yes we have expensive taste.

If you had to live in a city abroad, where would you choose and why? I found Kraków in Poland quite peaceful and picturesque. So probably Kraków.

If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us? Pizza, because it's very easy and I don't know too many recipes and because it's pop punk!

When it comes to pets are you a lover or hater of our furry friends? Lover, we're all animal lovers in Danger Den.

No matter the expense, send us a case of... Guinness.

The last time I saw the inside of a gym was... Last week, my parent's new apartment building has a gym there, I didn't use it though.

What's the one chore you dislike the most? Cleaning the toilet.

Do you have any phobias... Grasshoppers and spiders. It's funny because I used to love insects as a kid, but now I just can't stand them.

Would you ever partake in a reality show? I reckon I could beat everyone in 'Takeshi's Castle'.

If you could prank any of your friends, who's your target, and how are you bringing them down? My bandmates.

Best local takeaway joint for a midnight feed that will leave you with a food coma? Kebab Den in Malvern East.

Last show you binge-watched? 'Outlander'. My girlfriend made me watch an episode every night. It's actually pretty cool.

Danger Den launch their new EP 'It'll Be Alright' at The Tote Hotel (Melbourne) on 4 April as well as Bergy Bandroom (Melbourne) on 11 April.

The band support Chatters at Bad Decision Bar (Melbourne) tonight, 20 March (free entry) as well as playing Home By 11: A Sensible Evening Of Pop Punk And Emo VOL.1 at The Graveyard Bandroom (Melbourne) on 25 April.
