Indie-Con Australia 2021 Conference Programme

Indie-Con Australia Conference takes place at Freemasons Hall (Adelaide) 4-6 August.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Leading music industry conference, Indie-Con Australia have revealed their 2021 programme which will be staged as a hybrid event at Adelaide's Freemasons Hall (4-6 August).

Staged alongside the 2021 AIR Awards, this year's instalment of Indie-Con Australia will cover a broad range of topics and issues related to the independent music scene.

From panels discussing NFTs, other notable presentations include Deconstructing A&R (featuring Mark Jowett – Co-founder Nettwerk, CN – and Rachel Jones-Williams – GM Dirty Hit Records); Composing Music for Gaming and Sync moderated by Franc Tetaz ('Wolf Creek', 'Judy and Punch'); Livestreaming Platforms and Licensing moderated by Emily Ulman (Isol-aid) and featuring Sean Fay (Guesthouse UK); and The Journey of a Release featuring Anika Ostendorf (Milk! Records) and Mike Warner (Chartmetric).

Other confirmed speakers are Noemie Planas (WIN), Alex Goatcher (Know What's Loved), Morgan Read (Mighty Kingdom), Joshua Simons (VAMPR), Vanessa Hutley (Music Rights Australia), Will Evans (Band Camp), Amber Horsburgh (School Of Deepcuts) BMAT, Jaguar Jonze, Nathan McLay (Future Classic).

ARIA, PPCA, APRA AMCOS, Noisehive, Single Music, and Bolster will also host a number of online and on-demand presentations too.



"Adelaide is proud to host Indie-Con with its focus on encouraging greater commercial opportunities for Australia's thriving independent music sector by building important industry and business networks," SA Minister for Innovation and Skills, David Pisoni says.

"The global conversations that will be facilitated at Indie-Con, both in person and through webinars, will inspire new innovative approaches that push the boundaries of the music industry as it continues to evolve."

The conference is FREE for AIR members. Trade association members of the worldwide independent network (WIN) and members of other Australian music industry bodies can attend online for $69. Non-members online ticket price is $89. More information.
