Fronted by Alynda Segarra, Hurray For The Riff Raff will headline three east-coast concerts in October alongside a number of festival appearances.
Already slated to perform at Dashville Skyline (Hunter Valley) and Out On The Weekend (Melbourne and Gippsland), Hurray For The Riff Raff will also play gigs in Sydney, Northern Rivers and Brisbane.Segarra is touring off the back of their critically-acclaimed eighth album 'The Past Is Still Alive' (February, 2024), which was nominated for Album Of The Year at the 2024 Americana Honors & Awards.
The record was produced by Brad Cook (Bon Iver, Angie McMahon, Waxahatchee) and recorded in Durham, NC, just a month after the passing of Alynda's father, and features contributions from Anjimile, Conor Oberst, Meg Duffy, Mike Mogis, Phil Cook, S.G. Goodman and more.
"I recorded this album one year ago right after the unexpected passing of my father. It was the hardest year of my life. Full of goodbyes and tears.
"This is a record used as a memory box. Many people live on this record. Many sacred moments I will carry within me as I brave the fear. We all must follow the spiral that is our time on earth. I hope this album can be a container for grief and a reminder that GRIEF IS LOVE.
