An iconic film composer responsible for some of cinema's biggest musical moments, the award-winning Hans Zimmer returns to Australia in 2025.
A multiple Academy Awards and Grammy Awards winner, Zimmer (and his outstanding 19-piece live band and a full orchestra) will headline concerts in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in April; his first Australian live dates since 2019."I'm thrilled to return to Australia with my wonderful band and excited to share this phenomenal show," Zimmer says. "I love this feeling of uniting my family of extraordinary musicians with you, the audience.
"Just an unbelievable family of talents that – to me – makes them the best supergroup of musicians in the world; but nothing would have meaning without the good grace and support of you, the other part of the family – the audience.
"Ultimately, the music connects us all, and I promise you this: we will always play our best, straight from the heart."
Read our review of Hans' 2019 Brisbane concert, which we described as 'captivating, thrilling, and a little bit rock & roll'.
Across an incredible career spanning almost 50 years, the German composer-producer has soundtrack some of the biggest movies beginning with 1988 classic 'Rain Man' (which Zimmer's score was nominated for an Academy Award).
Soundtracks for 'Driving Miss Daisy' and 'Thelma & Louise' followed before Hans broke through to the mainstream with the original 'The Lion King' score in 1994. His subsequent soundtracks have included 'Gladiator', 'Black Hawk Down', 'Kung Fu Panda', three of the 'Pirates Of The Caribbean' films, and 'The Dark Knight'.
More recent soundtracks include 'Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice', Netflix's 'The Crown', 'Dunkirk', 'Wonder Woman 1984', 'No Time To Die', and 'Dune'.
