Simple Plan

A new documentary charting the rise of Canadian punk rockers Simple Plan debuts on Prime Video today.

'Simple Plan: The Kids In The Crowd' is a film from Canadian production company Sphere Media (who produced 2024 Prime Video series 'The Sticky' – about the the Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist) that details the band's 25-year journey.

The documentary features never-before-seen archival footage, along with new band member interviews as well as celebrated icons of the punk-rock community, including Mark Hoppus (Blink-182), Avril Lavigne, Dexter Holland and Noodles (The Offspring), and Fat Mike (NOFX).

It follows Simple Plan from playing basement shows in Montreal to trekking the world selling out stadium shows and courting global stardom.

The documentary also chronicles the creation of hits like 'Welcome To My Life', 'I'd Do Anything' and 'Perfect', as well as examining the band's cultural impact as one of the most successful punk-rock bands this century who are still selling out shows worldwide.

"We're so excited for our fans to finally see all that we've been working on to create this documentary over the past few years," the band's drummer Chuck Comeau says, who you learn from the film's trailer was almost kicked out of the band in the early days.

"I'm so proud of how we've grown as a band, from starting in my parents' basement to performing in stadiums, we hope our fans will love watching our story. Keep watching for a surprise snippet of our new song, 'Nothing Changes', which we can't wait for fans to hear!"

Alongside the documentary release, the band will also released the soundtrack for the film including new single 'Nothing Changes'. The soundtrack offers fans never before heard demo versions as well as unreleased tracks. Pre-order it.

After their recent tour down under with The Offspring (read our backstage chat with the band), Simple Plan will spend the North American summer touring their 25th anniversary shows.

'Simple Plan: The Kids In The Crowd' is available to stream on Prime Video.
