Before the recent death of Blowhard frontman Brentyn 'Rollo' Rollason, the Brisbane punks had been booked (but not announced) by Dead Of Winter Festival (DOW) as the headline act of their third artist announcement.
Both the event and band have honoured that commitment with Blowhard set to feature at Queensland's longest running heavy music festival when it locks down at The Tivoli Theatre and Jubilee Hotel (in Fortitude Valley) on Saturday 13 July.
The band will donate their booking fee to Rollo's family, while the festival will collect donations at the front door on the day of the festival.
Alongside Blowhard, DOW have also revealed Nick Oliveri's Kyuss tribute act, Kyuss Dies!, will play the 2019 event with Nick (who is already playing the festival as a solo act) to be joined by members of Dead Letter Circus, The Butterfly Effect, The Black Armada and The Royal Artillery. Did somebody say epic?
Sydney thrust machines Rick Dangerous and the Silkie Bantams also join the bill alongside veteran Brisbane bovver-rock act Shandy, Perth's Chaos Divine (veterans of Soundwave and Big Day Out), New Zealand industrial/ dubstep genre-benders Kaosis, Triple J-backed groove merchants Fight Ibis and Sydney heavy crew Wraith; plus local emerging acts: Crave Death, Radolescent, Piston Fist, Nowhere Else, Serial Killer Dinner Party, Blue Savannah Underworld and Void Matter.

The third announce bands will join the likes of Cog, Disentomb, Mammal, Bodyjar, 28 Days, Aversions Crown, Beastwars, Voyager, Svetlanas, The Go Set, Hits and many more.
With the 2017 and 2018 events having sold out, the 2019 DOW now boasts 61 bands and 4 sideshow acts featured on 6 stages, including the massive Tivoli main stage and 2 outdoor truck stages. General tickets are still available.
