Celebrated Australian singer-songwriter Bernard Fanning will celebrate 20 years of ‘Tea & Sympathy’, with a tour around Australia in February-March 2026.
The upcoming tour follows the sold-out anniversary show at Brisbane’s QPAC – Bernard will perform ‘Tea & Sympathy’ in full for the first time in 20 years.
“It’s such a privilege to have made a record that people connected with on such a deep, personal level. I have had so many people tell me that it changed their lives,” Bernard says. “As an artist that is one of the things that you hope for. Playing these songs live has always been a communal experience, with the audience sharing in both the intimacy and the full-throated sing-along glory of the songs.”
‘Tea & Sympathy’ reminded its listeners of the power of storytelling, and music’s ability to bind. . . Heart to heart, coast to coast.
Bernard will be joined on tour by special guests Sam Cromack (Ball Park Music) and Georgia Mooney (All Our Exes Live In Texas).
“It’s such a joy to be taking another lap around our country to play ‘Tea & Sympathy’ again. We’ve got most of the original band back together and can’t wait to play this record front to back in some of the country’s most iconic venues. Having Sam and Georgia along just triples the fun.”
‘Tea & Sympathy’ debuted at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart on release in 2005, going on to collect three ARIA Awards. It features tracks like the Hottest 100-topping ‘Wish You Well’, plus ‘Songbird’, ‘Watch Over Me’, and ‘Thrill Is Gone’.
In celebration of the 20 year anniversary, special editions have been released on both vinyl and CD, including updated artwork, rare archival content, and special renditions. Bernard is also an ambassador for this year’s AusMusic T-Shirt Day, with an exclusive shirt designed by Sebi White.
Tickets on sale 5 November.
