An opportunity of a life time for any emerging artist, produced by BEMAC on behalf of Brisbane City Council The QUBE Effect brings together 24 of Brisbane's next-gen contemporary music creatives across an inspiration six-month period where participants will be mentored by some of Brisbane's most influential music industry experts.This 'money can't buy' experience also offers high profile live performance opportunities, industry prizes, a professionally filmed music video, and much, much more.

Open to all Brisbane-based music artists, including soloists, duos and bands, the application process promotes diversity across cultures, genre and gender.

BEMAC's Creative Producer of QUBE Effect 2020, Queenie Pelesa of District Studio will again be holding the ropes for 2021.
While the 2021 expert panel, session facilitators and music mentors are still to be announced, 2020's line-up included the likes of two-time ARIA Award-winning producer, engineer Dr Lachlan 'Magoo' Goold, Tyler McLoughlan - Director of The Sound Pound, Q Music, The Tivoli, and record label Dew Process (home for everyone from Bloc Party to Bernard Fanning, WAAX and Mallrat to Mumford & Sons and London Grammar).
"I think what is the most valuable about the QUBE programme is that it opens doors to underground musicians," Bashir, who participated in this year's QUBE Effect programme, says, "creating opportunities for the younger generations to showcase their talents and also get mentoring on how to stay focussed and be creative.
"The QUBE effect programme made me feel welcome to Australia by accepting my song in my mother tongue, helped me build the confidence of not being ashamed to embrace my culture and showcase my talent with harmony and courage."
Local vocal pop group MVP were also part of 2020 QUBE Effect programme. "Being a part of the QUBE Effect in 2020 has been an eye opening experience.
"It's helped us to really focus on who we are as a band, and helped to grow both creatively and professionally."
