After being forced to cancel his 2020 tour, indie folk-rock, lo-fi pop singer-songwriter, Alex G returns to Australia this summer.
The 'Mary', 'Treehouse', 'Sarah' and 'Advice' multi-instrumentalist, already revealed on Meredith Music Festival's 2023 line-up, will headline concerts in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane early December.An artist who first gained attention in the early 2010s with his homemade DIY recordings on Bandcamp, Alex G has released nine albums including 2012's self-recorded, independently released 'Trick' that features the aforementioned 'Mary', 'Advice', 'Sarah' as well 'Forever', 'Change' and '16 Mirrors'.
After signing with independent label Orchid Tapes, 'DSU' was his label debut in 2014. Subsequently signing with London-based label Domino, Alex's recent output includes 2019 record 'House Of Sugar' ('Hope', 'Gretel') and 2022's 'God Save The Animals ('Runner').
It was this later release that propelled Alex G to breakthrough to the mainstream with US national TV performances on 'Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show' and 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert' last year.
A native of Philadelphia, Alex G has previously collaborated (providing guitars and arrangements) with Frank Ocean on his LPs 'Endless' and 'Blonde'.
