The annual pilgrimage for indie delights, bush escapism, thoughtful conversations and retreat into musical wonderlands, Meredith Music Festival returns in 2023 for its 31st edition.
The line-up is plump with international talent set alongside charming local discoveries with virtuosic pop auteur Caroline Polachek and digital music pioneers Kraftwerk set to headline when Meredith is staged at Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre 8-10 December.Then there's Canadian indie pop group Alvvays ('Archie, Marry Me', 'Dreams Tonite'), American lo-fi indie songwriter Alex G ('Mary', 'Treehouse'), English grime MC and Roll Deep's Flowdan and Aussie dance treasures Sneaky Sound System ('UFO', 'Goodbye', 'P'ictures').
While High Priestesses of the Motherbeat, weaving as one in Supernatural surrounds will be Eris Drew & Octo Octa alongside the snorting, snuffling swines of doom Pigs x7, Oakland hip hop crew Souls Of Mischief and Australian reggae-rock group No Fixed Address who've been blazin' a trail since 1979.
On the local front, Cable Ties, Floodlights, Telenova, C.O.F.F.I.N, dameeeela, Bumpy, Miss Kaninna and Gut Health will represent.
"I have some terrific news to share with you. The line-up for Meredith Thirty One is unfurled below," shares Aunty.
"For the thirty first and very first time. A panoramic pleasure trip, a rare step, a deep slide, into the underground wonderland that is the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre. Optimised elation, bush exaltation. Tweaked and tuned up as required and desired.
"Custom-cut to fit the evolving atmospherics of The Sup'. The centre is everywhere. From deep discovery to elementary enjoyment. Subterranean treasures to searing virtuosos, from sunlit essentials to late nite blasts. Never-thought-it-would-happens amidst hometown heroes. A bellow of resonant revelations.
