AFI Australia 2025 Tour

AFI
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

American punk rockers AFI have extended their Australia visit next March.

"We've added two headline shows in Australia during our tour with Green Day – our first Australian shows in eight years," the Californian band posted. The 'Miss Murder' and 'Girl's Not Grey' hitmakers will headline concerts in Sydney and Brisbane.

AFI (short for 'A Fire Inside') were originally a hardcore act when they first emerged in the early '90s after high school students Davey Havok (vocals) and Adam Carson (drums, backing vocals) formed the band.

After signing to Nitro Records – the legendary incubator for some of punk’s biggest names – and moving to the Bay Area, AFI gained momentum with 1997's 'Shut Your Mouth And Open Your Eyes' and 1998's 'A Fire Inside' EP, while they cemented their long-running line-up with the addition of bassist Hunter Burgan in 1997 and guitarist Jade Puget in 1998.

Today, with 11 studio albums, 10 EPs, 4 MTV Video Music Awards, and 1 Grammy Award nomination to their name, AFI shows no signs of slowing down, much to the delight of their multi-generational, global fanbase.

Tickets on sale from 1pm (local time) on 16 December.
