After announcing Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul last week, the American cable network has today announced Spread The Dead, a 'companion series' to The Walking Dead.
Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman will serve as executive producer on the new series, which AMC President Charlie Collier says will involve "an entirely new story and cast of characters", meaning no Rick, Glenn, Daryl, Carl, etc.
"It's a big world," Collier added, "and we can't wait to give fans another unforgettable view of the zombie apocalypse."
The new season of Walking Dead premieres on October 13, but we won't get to see Spread The Dead until 2015.
Hopefully, it'll be followed by Walking Dead: SVU, Walking Dead: Los Angeles, and Daryl, in which everyone's favourite character moves to Seattle and we finally meet the third Dixon brother, Niles.
