Paces' Top 5 Burger Spots

Mikey Perry is never going to be at risk of being called a lazy guy.

If not writing tropical party anthems as Paces, he's producing tracks for friends: Tkay Maidza, Madeline Vida and Vanessa Elisha. Mixing influences from Jersey club, future beats and garage, he’s crafted a style which is undeniably his own but could sit at home among any of his musical idols like Cashmere Cat and Ta-Ku.

“I’ve been on a burger-quest for the last six months or so, trying to eat a gourmet burger in every city I visit. So without further ado, I give you my top five burger spots."

1. Bread & Bone, Adelaide

This is the holy grail of burger spots. Amazing burgers, great beers on tap, nice staff, and a secret speakeasy room! Last time I had a huge meal and then went to another burger spot two hours later for another huge meal. I was super quiet at my show that night because I was concentrating on not dying.

2. Ze Pickle, Burleigh Heads

This has apparently been there for years and I’ve only just realised, which is a hard pill to swallow being that it’s very close to my home and I’ve missed out on years of delicious burgers.

3. Ben’s Burgers, Fortitude Valley

A must-do when in Brisbane. Very limited menu (which I like), they just do a few things and do them really well. Extra points for the branding. And their Instagram account is responsible for 100 percent of my anxiety.

4. Jus Burger, Subiaco

This is where my burger quest began. I had a pulled-pork burger here and the clouds parted and God spoke to me. He said “Go forth and tasteth all of the burgers I have given unto this land”.

5. Mary’s, Newtown

The burgers are like what Maccas should be, and the place is super rad. The staff were so cool that I was intimidated and tried to act like I’d been there before but I hadn’t and I didn’t know where to go (upstairs, back corner BTW).
