Joffrey Baratheon & Optimus Prime At Supanova

Jack Gleeson, who played Joffrey Baratheon in Game Of Thrones

Supanova Pop Culture Expo is rolling out the royalty by bringing two stellar identities to their expos in November.

In a rare public appearance, Jack Gleeson, who played Joffrey Baratheon in the television series Game of Thrones will join Supanova’s star-studded line-up in addition to veteran voice actor, Peter Cullen, who is best known as the voice of Optimus Prime from the Transformers franchise.

Jack Gleeson is the best at portraying the worst; he shot to fame as Joffrey Baratheon in Game of Thrones, the television adaption of George R.R. Martin’s fantasy novel series, A Song of Ice and Fire. The Irish actor was originally cast as a double for the role but when called into auditions Gleeson had the panel in hysterics. The writers and producers found his snotty and arrogant performance comical, selecting him for the role as the petulant boy-king.

Following his dramatic and spectacular departure from Game of Thrones, Gleeson retired from acting at the peak of his infamy to focus on his university studies (philosophy and theology), so his visit to Adelaide and Brisbane in November is a real coup for Supanova’s fans and organisers.

Transformers fans will recognise Peter Cullen as the unmistakable voice of Optimus Prime. Peter was the original actor to voice the Autobot in the ‘80s animated series, returning to the role in 2007 with Michael Bay’s live-action reboot of the franchise.

A superstar of the voice acting world, Cullen is also the talent behind Eeyore from Winnie The Pooh, and many '80s cartoon classics including Murky Dismal from Rainbow Brite, Monterey Jack from Chip ’n’ Dale Rescue Rangers, Coran from Voltron: Defender of the Universe, Eddie Spenser Jr. from Filmation’s Ghostbusters, and Sergeant Havoc from Rambo: The Force of Freedom.
