The Vanns Share Their Favourite South Coast Travel Destinations

South Coast rock favourites The Vanns recently released their new album 'All That's In My Head', a raw, emotionally-driven record that captures the band at their most honest and affecting yet.

Recorded across two intense sessions in London and Wollongong, the album explores the complexities of adulthood, from love and loss to growth and self-discovery, through gritty instrumentation and heartfelt lyricism.

The focus track 'Millionaires' distills the band's signature energy into its purest form: loud, unfiltered, and soul-stirring. Stripping back the production and tracking live in-studio, the track showcases what The Vanns do best, delivering emotionally-charged rock with heart and guts.

Next week The Vanns join the likes of Missy Higgins, Saint Motel, Hockey Dad, Magic Dirt, The Living End, Boy & Bear, Jacob Banks and many more for two-day South Coast music event Wanderer Festival.



Situated in the beautiful, idyllic surrounds of Pambula Beach in NSW's Sapphire Coast, Wanderer Festival is a short walk from the enticing ocean and a host of other natural attractions.

Originally from Kiama in the Illawarra region, The Vanns know the area well. Here Jimmy Vann shares some of his favourite South Coast getaway destinations.

Lake Conjola

One of my favourite camping spots on the South Coast. Have been going on friend and family camping trips ever since I was a little kid. So many great memories and lots of good fishing!

Kiama

I grew up in Kiama, so I will always have a soft spot for it. I'm always heading down there to visit my family whenever possible and it holds a special place with the band as it's where the band first formed jamming in my parents' shed.

Bawley Point

I've had so many epic surf trips down the coast to Bawley. Beautiful spot.

Bendalong

When I first got my licence I drove an old 1974 Kombi. This is where me and my best mates would always travel down to; running a muck, surfing and listening to music all weekend.

Orient Point

When I first became friends with Cam, before he even joined the band, I would always go down and hang out with him. We have made a heap of music down there and drank many a beer together in his parents' house when we were younger.
