The 10th and final Crash The Superbowl competition is open to filmmakers, with Australia receiving a personal call-out from Director Zack Snyder.
Funded and sponsored by Doritos, the annual Crash The Superbowl campaign gives amateur filmmakers the chance to have their work featured in the Superbowl’s infamous half-time break. Doritos is putting up a kitty of $1 million for the eventual winner, as well as a priceless opportunity to work with Zack Snyder and DC Entertainment. Given full creative freedom, the role will be custom tailored to the contest winner’s interests.

In a change from previous years, two other finalists will each receive $100,000 and an opportunity to consult on an upcoming Doritos project. This means every finalist will receive life-changing career opportunities as well as cash prizes.

In the last two years, Australia has fielded two finalists – the Doritos Manchild and the viral sensation Finger Cleaner. Although neither won the coveted half-time slot, both filmmakers travelled to the US to attend the Super Bowl, one of the most watched sporting events in the world.

Snyder, most known for the dark and brooding DC universe he has helped adapt to screen, is offering up his valuable time and extensive knowledge to the winner. Snyder himself got his start in the industry making television commercials and his work on Super Bowl commercials in particular helped catapult his career.

“I started my career making commercials and remain a big fan of the medium,” says Snyder. “Having made several Super Bowl commercials myself, I’m really excited to be a part of this year’s contest. It is the venue which always produces the most innovative and exciting work. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.”
