Say 'Hello Moto' To The 5G Motorola Edge – The Loudest Smartphone On Earth

Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

The Motorola Edge is the latest state-of-the-art smartphone added to the ever-growing list of phones compatible with the 5G network, soon to make us forget 4G even existed.

Can you believe we're in the 5G era? It doesn't seem that long ago that we were flipping our 2004 Motorola Razrs shut to hang up on our enemies with sass, and waiting 30 seconds for Google's homepage to load (sidenote. . . Motorola has actually remade the Razr for 2020!).

The Razr was a fashion icon, even Miranda Priestly from 'The Devil Wears Prada' had to have one.

Not only is it speedy as heck, but it comes equipped with the loudest, most powerful stereo speakers in a smartphone ever. That's pretty loud. And powerful. The audio technology comes from the Technical GRAMMY Award-winning Waves, born from recording studios and used by sound engineers, music, film and TV producers and broadcasters.

Not that you'll notice this when it comes to ringtones/text notifications, because we're pretty sure no one keeps their phone on loud these days. . . Right? But, you will be able to enjoy music and video content with a pretty bangin' audio system. Ahhh, the sweet, crisp sound of TikTok binging on the Motorola Edge. Exactly what it was built for.

It's also got the biggest screen for a Motorola phone yet, so this phone's definitely cramming in a lot of firsts.

At this point it's basically the mobile embodiment of 'Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger' by Daft Punk. . . Which happens to be a song. A song you can play using the Edge's speakers. See what I did there?

Long story short, this is a loud phone. Because we all want to be entertained to the highest degree wherever we go.

"More people are looking for a portable home theatre experience from their phones and the Motorola Edge delivers a best-in-class experience that is impactful, balanced and immersive," Waves Audio's Adam Levenson says. "This is just the beginning of a collaboration between Motorola and Waves that will lead to new innovations in sound technology for premium phones."

The Motorola Edge is available now.
