PreSonus Eris E3.5 Monitor Speakers Review

PreSonus Eris E3.5 monitor speakers

Whether you are someone that simply loves to listen to your favourite artist exactly as they recorded their music, play video games or create your own video and audio projects, sound matters.

It matters because in each of these situations, hearing the audio clearly and honestly is the difference between a decent and exceptional experience.

Monitor speakers, such as the PreSonus Eris E3.5, are designed to project the exact audio or ‘sound profile’ that their creator intended. The audio professionals call it a flat response and in real terms this means no EQ, no bass boost and no fine tuning that ultimately changes the sound you hear.

When you sit in front of your computer or gaming console, people are realising more and more how important your sound is to your experience.

Sound designers for gaming companies and video/ audio producers spend a lot of time and money creating a particular sound balance, so you can feel like you are right there in the game or video.

The PreSonus Eris E3.5 speakers let you hear this perfectly and clearly. The PreSonus Eris 3.5 offer studio-monitor sound at a multimedia speaker price.

At just $169rrp, they are priced to compete with a basic hi-fi set-up, but offer so much more. They feature 3.5" kevlar woofers that deliver solid low-end sound without bass distortion.

The 1" silk-dome tweeter offers smooth and balanced high-frequency sound with a wide sweet spot, so even when you are moving around, playing games or pacing as you watch your video productions, you still can hear a very accurate sound.

There is a 50W amplifier inside that delivers 25 watts of power per side and gives you more than enough sound for your laptop or gaming console.

Connections on the front include connections for your iPhone and headphones as well as a volume knob and power switch. On the rear you will find a high/ low EQ so you can boost or turn down either of the high/ low frequencies by 6dB. At full volume, they will give you 105dB of SPL (enough to annoy your mum, housemates or even neighbours)!

You also have RCA and TRS inputs, so you have three different ways to plug in and playback your audio.

PreSonus® Eris-series studio monitors are used worldwide by audio engineers who need to hear every detail of their recordings.

These may be the smallest and most affordable in the Eris range, but take advantage of the millions of dollars they have spent on research and development to create the family of PreSonus monitors.
