Celebrate The Anniversary Of Felix Baumgartner's Insanity

Felix Baumgartner
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

It's been one year today since Austrian madman Felix Baumgartner threw himself to earth from the edge of space (and broke the sound barrier in the process), and Red Bull have come up with a pretty special way to celebrate.

They've released POV footage of Baumgartner's descent, so now you can feel like you, too, are an insane person who thinks breaking the sound barrier in freefall is a pretty logical thing to do.

The POV footage is complemented by a few other camera angles and a slew of real-time mission data collected during the jump, because, hey, there has to be someone out there who knows what that stuff means.

That's not all — you can also celebrate the anniversary of the real-life Sandra Bullock's freefall by watching Mission To The Edge Of Space: The Full Story Behind Red Bull Stratos, a feature-length documentary released via Rdio today.
