What do you do?
I am the Production Assistant for the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
Why do you do it?
Music has always been a love of mine and something that I am very passionate about. At QSO, every day is different, each presenting its own set of challenges and tasks to complete. To work with the state’s most prestige orchestra is very rewarding and I get a backstage pass to listen to the entire repertoire that is performed.
What do you love about the city you live in?
Brisvegas definitely has the best weather out of all the states! It’s perfect for the Orchestra to perform outside as well, with concerts like the annual Symphony Under The Stars, and of course our upcoming performance of The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers on Saturday 5 October. Both events are at the Brisbane Riverstage.
Where did you go for your last holiday?
Stradbroke Island.
What's your favourite item of clothing? Why?
My black “Hard Yakka” shorts. They have about 12 pockets to hold everything from a pen to a mobile phone to a small note pad. The most comfortable work shorts ever!
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
Has to be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
It would be awesome to travel back to the era of the ancient Romans. I think we learnt a lot of cool stuff from them, plus the knowledge and history we have taken from them today is just phenomenal.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook for us?
Ravioli with a Napoli sauce.
What's the best lesson you've ever learned?
“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
Are you happy with your work/life balance?
Nope! Working with the orchestra is full time and this includes weekends. I’m still trying to work out my perfect balance between life and work!
How do you define success?
Success comes from achieving your goals and dreams.
What's your spirit animal?
The almighty King of the Jungle… The Tiger!
