I’m a university student and in my free time, I help plan all-age music events as part of Sydney Youth Music.
Why do you do it?
Our events are all ages, drug and alcohol free. Creating a safe space for young people to enjoy music for what it is, is something that I think is important especially in the city. These kind of events are lacking and being part of this group gives me an opportunity to provide these shows to everyone as well as giving young artists the opportunity to perform.
What do you love about the city you live in?
Sydney has so much happening in it. The diversity of the city and the people is extraordinary and always has something fascinating going on. Whether it’s a free festival or art or a show, culture can be seen everywhere you look.
Where did you go for your last holiday?
I was in Thailand and Singapore for a few weeks; the food was fantastic, the people were welcoming and the countries were beautiful.
What's your favourite item of clothing? Why?
Definitely socks. A fun pair of socks can change a drab outfit to something much more.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
Probably 'Arthur'. It taught me what an aardvark is and if you ask nicely, I can probably sing you the theme song.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
Australia in the 1920s. Have you seen the fashion back then? So much going on!
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us?
I can’t really cook, but can bake. I’d probably feed you cake for dinner!
What's the best lesson you've ever learned?
Don’t wait for things to come to you – take the initiative!
Are you happy with your work/ life balance?
Most of the time, yes!
How do you define success?
Success is that feeling of accomplishment. Whether that is making the difference in an individual or in the world, every little bit is a success.
What's your spirit animal?
I’d have to say a penguin. Their ability to survive in such a harsh environment is pretty impressive.
