I’m a film producer. I also dabble in acting and I work a day job as a bond trader to pay for my exploits.
Why do you do it?
It allows me to create a range of stories and situations that are not common in everyday society. I think films help make life more interesting by allowing audiences to live vicariously through the characters. I like being able to show people not only something they want to see, but something they want to experience themselves. That's not something that is offered in other professions.
What do you love about the city you live in?
The fact that it's a city. I couldn't live in the middle of nowhere.
Where did you go for your last holiday?
Tokyo, Japan. It was a week of filming for the movie I've just produced called ‘Colourful & Impossible’. I guess it was more of a working holiday as opposed to a proper holiday...
What's your favourite item of clothing? Why?
My old blue Levi 511s. They fit like a glove. Every time I wear them it feels like going home. They're a little too beat up now, so I can't wear them as often as I'd like.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
'The Simpsons'. I think anyone born from the mid '80s to early '90s would have to say the same. It was unlike anything else at the time.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
NYC, 2 September, 1945. That would have been one hell of a party.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook for us?
Spaghetti Bolognese. It's the only thing I can make that pleases everyone.
What's the best lesson you've ever learned?
It's not the smartest, nor the most talented that get the furthest in life, but the ones who work well with others.

I want to touch both the bottom of the sea, and the surface of Mars before I die.
Are you happy with your work/life balance?
No. I work too much. Holding down a full-time job to pay for a film your producing in your spare time is more work than I would wish upon anyone else.
How do you define success?
Doing everything that you wanted to do by the age you wanted to do it.
What's your spirit animal?
The Puffin. It's one of very few animals that can swim, walk and fly. It's the overachiever of the animal world.
