I am a volunteer producer at Fresh 92.7 for the breakfast show, Cam & Alex.
Why do you do it?
I initially began volunteering as a producer because I knew nothing about producing and thought 'why not?'. But since I started, I absolutely love it! I get to spend the first three hours of my day laughing and hustling in the producer booth and learning from the exec producer.
What do you love about the city you live in?
I live in RADELAIDE and have always been an 'Adelaidian'. I suppose I love how consistently weird the city is. There are so many random, little quirks in Adelaide that exist nowhere else. IE. half-hour time difference. Sure, we are the butt of the jokes for the rest of the country but we are proud of it.
Where did you go for your last holiday?
I have just moved back from a working holiday in New Zealand which was EPIC. I worked as a travel agent while over there for seven months, so I got in heaps of travel around the long white cloud. Tip: Queenstown is amazing, but Wanaka is better; less touristy and only 1.5hr drive from QT.
What’s you favourite item of clothing?
I have a pair of metallic cowboy boots that I wore practically every day. They are absolutely trashed now and I haven’t worn them in years, but I will never throw them out.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
'Hey Arnold', 'The Rugrats' and 'Arthur'.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
If I was travelling within my lifetime, I would go back to when we lived in the island of Dominica in the Caribbean for a year. I would walk through the over-grown mango groves and stare over the Caribbean Sea. If it could be any time in history, I would go back to Roman times. I would love to be sitting with Caesar in the Colosseum during a tournament.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us?
I wouldn’t. I don’t want you to get food poisoning.
What’s the best lesson you have ever learned?
Be your own anchor and remember you can’t control the wind, but you can adjust your sails to reach your destination.
Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody knows?
Romance makes me uncomfortable. I only used to watch chick flicks, so I could hang out with my friends. Deep down I think there is a pool in hell that would be a better experience than 1.5hr movie with predictable storyline. *Joking… sort of… not really.
Are you happy with your work/life balance?
No, I wish I was rich and didn’t work full time! *joking – but not joking. FYI, I work full time at a bank after Fresh in the mornings. I find though that the days I have Fresh in the morning, I’m much more pumped for the rest of the day.
How do you define success?
Success for me is moving towards my goals. I think as long as I am moving, I am successful. I say this because for me my goals are constantly moving, changing and evolving. As soon as the goal post gets near, I shift it in to the horizon. So I don’t believe success is when I achieve my goals because by the time I have the bar has moved further in to the distance.
What’s your spirit animal?
Elephant. Memory from here to the middle ages (my ex's can vouch I never forget anything…. ever!).
