I programme the State Of The Art Festival (5 June, 2017) and am also a venue booking agent and artist manager/ agent.
Why do you do it?
Working with music is what I gravitated to when I finished school. Two decades later it turns out the time has just gone really fast and it’s the world that works for me. There is something about the people that live music attracts, both as punters and musicians, that is very special.
What do you love about the city you live in?
Hmm… the weather is pretty good and everything’s relatively close to the city. Fantastic music history.
Where did you go for your last holiday?
Bali.
What's your favourite item of clothing? Why?
A cap that says 'Parts' on the front and 'Eminence' on the back – it’s very confusing. I think it’s two different companies that must have gone halves in some promo merchandise.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid? (If you've got kids, what's your favourite show to watch with them?)
'Get Smart'. Still as funny now. I have a kid but she’s only recently turned one, so no TV yet except the cricket. Hopefully 'Get Smart' together in a few years.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
Let’s go Roman Empire era; I could handle that for a day. Any longer I’d need to choose a time with working dunnies.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us?
I can only cook one dish: creamy chicken and pasta. I take ages to do it, so I might need to pour you a good bowl of cereal for the wait.
Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows...
If nobody knows it it’s for a good bloody reason. However, few people would know that I carry and use a handkerchief. Don’t judge me.
Are you happy with your work/ life balance?
Meh. Not overly, but I think that’s a constant struggle for most people, especially when the work/ social lives are intertwined so much.
How do you define success?
I guess it’s the fine point where happiness and survival can meet with a little compromise as possible.
