I’m an Event Manager for Kinetic Events – we organise Brisbane festivals, street parties, cultural and public events!
Why do you do it?
I am super passionate about bringing creative communities together and producing events to give people amazing experiences and memories… and I really love parties.
What do you love about the city you live in?
I am in love with this goddam gorgeous sunshine every day of the year. Plus we are buzzing with amazing music, markets, food, culture and beautiful people and it makes me happy to say that I am from here.
Where did you go for your last holiday?
Hmm, I am in desperate need for a holiday. A couple of years ago I lived in England for three years – does this count? No. Right, time to book a holiday.
What's your favourite item of clothing?
My costume box. It’s a collection of costumes from some relatively outrageous parties over the past ten years… the blue, Katy Perry wig is my favourite item because it makes me look like Katy Perry.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
I would have to say maybe ‘Around The Twist’, ‘Amazing’ or… ehem... ‘Friends’.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
Maybe somewhere in the ‘60s where I would be a dancer in a Beach Boys music video.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us?
Something gorgeous and Italian that is made with love and would melt your heart.
What's the best lesson you've ever learned?
“Oh yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it.” (Thanks Disney). Also to live life every day in the present moment, give love to those around you, get some perspective and never take life for granted – life is far too precious.
Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows...
I can’t go for longer than two days without eating tuna and I have an irrational fear of storms.
Are you happy with your work/ life balance?
I am an event manager so basically I have no concept of this.
How do you define success?
To meet people, make friends, share stories, work hard, travel everywhere, care for yourself and love with all of your heart – that’s success.
