I am a musician, an event producer, a performance artist, radio announcer and a venue manager.
Why do you do it?
Sometimes I wonder why! I know why I perform and I guess I work in a similar field to support my obsession with guitars and performance. I am lucky all my work is in a similar field. And I am an obsessive work-a-holic. It's taken me lots of therapy to admit that.
What do you love about the city you live in?
LOVE YA BRISBANE! The weather is outstanding, the people are really beautiful, the vile conservative politics make for sensational comedic political satire and I can afford the lifestyle I want, AND it's easy to get arrested under Newman's rule.
Where did you go for your last holiday?
Vietnam.
What's your favourite item of clothing? Why?
Jeans and sneakers. I live in them, which is controversial and challenging for a women in today's modern cosmetic world but it hasn't really held me back. Hear me roar!
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
‘Monkey’. Born from an egg on a mountain top!
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
I would try and go back and save Elvis from overdosing on burgers and pills in his toilet. Reality would be that I probably would join him and end up etched in history as the unknown frumpy woman in jeans and sensible shoes who was found in the bathroom with him clutching a meat pattie and a strip of Quaaludes.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us? I love cooking, depending on what you eat the sky is the limit. I am feeling like you would love my slow cooked smoked hock and green split pea soup or TACOS! Or lamb shanks or let's just eat until we bloat and die on the toilet like Elvis. FOOD!
What's the best lesson you've ever learned?
To only worry about what I am doing.
Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows…
I will almost never eat chicken from restaurants. I am neurotic about food poisoning despite never having it ever in my life.
Are you happy with your work/ life balance?
A little from column A and a little from column B. Not really but in this crazy capitalist world I want money, that's what I want. I don't actually want money but I have asked the bank if they will accept mortgage payments in glitter farts and power ballads and it was a flat out no.
How do you define success?
I am never happy with my work except when other people are happy and get joy from what I have made or produced. Then I am happy and feel success.
What's your spirit animal?
The sloth. One day I will be at one with the sloth.
