What do you do? I am an artist manager/ founder of 27 Music – an artist management company ran out of Adelaide, SA. Artists I manage/ co-manage include Teenage Joans, Mariae Cassandra, Purée, The Tullamarines, Bukowski, and Sunbleached.

Why do you do it? I do it because I've always had a deep love for the alternative music scene! It's the world I grew up in and always dreamed of being part of. Even when I wasn't the best musician, I found my place behind the scenes, where I could genuinely make a difference.

Every 'no' I've ever been told has only made me work harder to earn my seat at the table. Supporting artists and helping them grow never feels like work – it feels like purpose.

What do you love about the city you live in? What I love about living in Adelaide is the strong sense of community within the local music scene. Being a bit disconnected from the east coast can feel isolating at times, but it also means Adelaide truly champions its own – people here genuinely want to see local artists and industry thrive.

Moving here during a transitional time in my life made me realise how important that kind of support is. It's a city that encourages you to build something meaningful and sustainable, even when you feel far from the centre.

Where did you go for your last holiday? I'm not really someone who takes holidays, but in March this year I went over to the US for SXSW and then got to head to San Diego for a week and stayed with one of my best friends Cassi!

Even though we did talk about work 99 per cent of the time, she did take me to San Diego Zoo and got to do some other touristy things and play a bunch of pinball. It was an incredible time – memories that I will hold onto forever!

What's your favourite item of clothing? Okay so, I own a 'famous' t-shirt that was actually worn by Travis Barker! It was gifted to me after one of their shows in Australia by one of their touring crew and it sits on a special hook in the corner of my office.

What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid? 'Round The Twist'.

If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go? Take me back to November 4, 1999, at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, California, aka the Mark, Tom and Travis Show.

If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us? I make a mean chicken schnitzel and mash – it's what everyone gets the first time I make dinner for them.

What's the best lesson you've ever learned? You don't have to be in the centre of it all to make an impact – you can build something powerful from anywhere. Moving to Adelaide reshaped the way I manage; it taught me the value of intentionally building community and support networks, both for my artists and for myself.

It pushed me to stop waiting for opportunities and start creating them, especially for regional and emerging voices. Most of all, it reminded me that presence, connection, and sustainability matter more than postcode.

Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows... Okay, a few people know this about me but not a lot so this still counts but I am one of Australia's biggest Simpsons collectors.

Are you happy with your work/ life balance? My work has pretty much become my whole life, but in the best possible way! I even ended up marrying one of the artists I used to manage, and now we run 27 Music together. The lines between work and life are definitely blurred, but it's all built on passion, purpose, and shared goals. I wouldn't have it any other way!

How do you define success? For me, success isn't about ticking boxes or being in the right city – it's about building something meaningful, sustainable, and true to who I am. It's seeing the artists I work with grow, find their voice, and feel supported every step of the way.

It's also about feeling connected to my community, my purpose, and the people I work alongside day to day. If I can keep creating opportunities, championing the underrepresented, and doing work that feels honest and fulfilling, then that's success in my eyes.

What's your spirit animal? I feel like my spirit animal is the raven. They're intelligent, resourceful, and deeply intuitive, always observing, adapting, and finding creative solutions, which feels a lot like what I do day to day as an artist manager.

Ravens are also known for forming strong social bonds and communicating in unique ways, which mirrors how I approach building community and supporting artists in a way that's personal and unconventional. They are also goth af so I love that, haha!
