I run CONTRARY, an independent booking and promotion agency. I work with clients that I feel understand and value musicians and music. Currently putting shows of interest into John Curtin Hotel and programming a conference at the Arts Centre Melbourne called Face The Music.
Face The Music is two days where bands, publicists, labels, state music orgs, promoters, agents, festivals, producers get together to discuss music, our industry and the future. It is inclusive and open to everyone.
Why do you do it?
I love music and the way people look when they are having a good time.
What do you love about the city you live in?
The small pubs like the Napier, the Gem, independent owner-operated shops and restaurants. The vintage clothes stores. The farmers markets. The nonna's. Grapevine carports in the back streets of Collingwood. Inner city laneways. The lemon trees and rosemary in front yards. Excessive amounts of original music. Excessive number of art shows. Federal Member for Melbourne — Adam Bandt. Sona's juice!!
Where did you go for your last holiday?
India and Thailand.
What's your favourite item of clothing? Why?
Chanel No. 5…. and when it's cold an old Jacquard woollen cardigan we found at my grandparents, likely belonging to Stan Bacon.

HR Pufnstuf.

Livid Festival, RNA Showgrounds Brisbane, Saturday 13 Oct 2001. Patch of grass. Zoo Stage. Rainbow backdrop. Sunset. Approx 5:45PM.

Not to stick your tongue to the inside of the freezer AND if you don't have a plan for you, someone else does.
