I’m a presenter on The Riff, weekdays at 5pm and Saturdays at 10:30am (live) on Channel [V].
Why do you do it?
For the free CDs!
What do you love about the city you live in?
The hommus in Surry Hills (Sydney) on the corner of Elizabeth St and Cleveland St at any of the Lebanese restaurants is delicious. Besides that, the weather is a treat, people are active and do stuff and there is always something going on in Syncity.
Where did you go for your last holiday?
Japan, Cambodia and Indonesia.
What's your favourite item of clothing? Why?
It’s a vintage Mambo LOUD shirt. It’s colourful and you can’t be unhappy wearing it.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
Lift Off.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
Early '90s. I would’ve loved to be around when hip hop was an up-and-coming genre in the music scene. We’re starved of US hip hop in Australia. Imagine going to a local venue in LA or New York to see Public Enemy, N.W.A, Run DMC, Dr Dre, Snoop, Pac or Biggie performing. That’s an era I want to go back to.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook for us?
Well, if I really HAD to, I’d cook you fish. You’re looking a little low on Omega 3.
What's the best lesson you've ever learned?
Never cross your bridges before they hatch.
Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows...
I’m good at keeping secrets.
Are you happy with your work/life balance?
Definitely. I barely ever feel like I’m working. Channel [V] is one giant rollercoaster. I’m always doing new stuff. It’s challenging at times, and I’m getting outrageous opportunities on a daily basis. Couldn’t be happier.
How do you define success?
I don’t really define very often. But I guess it’s when you truly believe you’ve reached a target you set for yourself. Whether you’re aiming for better relationships, a raise or a charity fun run, success is simply doing something you told yourself you were going to do. Being successful is the art of consistently achieving those things aka ‘Being a Boss.’
What's your spirit animal?
A lion with an afro mane.
