I’m an aspiring journalist who studies full time and works as a duty manager for a nightclub.
Why do you do it?
I’ve always wanted to be a journalist, it’s exciting. With my other job, I just and love the atmosphere and talking to people.
What do you love about the city you live in?
That my friends and family live here.
Where did you go for your last holiday?
Just the Gold Coast, I stayed at the casino which was really nice.
What's your favourite item of clothing? Why?
My Doc Martins. They’ve seen me through every concert I’ve ever been to. I hold them responsible for the reason I’ve never broken any toes at Soundwave before.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
Scooby Doo.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
I wouldn’t go too far back, just over a year ago to spend another day with a loved one.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook for us?
I burn water but I make really good Vegemite toast. I can get the butter to Vegemite to bread proportions just right.
What's the best lesson you've ever learned?
High school taught me that it doesn’t matter what people think about you. If they’re stupid enough to believe an outrageous rumour, then their opinions don’t matter anyway. It’s best to only care about what your friends, close family and mentors think.
Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows...
I make fun of people at my uni who say they want to go into television journalism, but really that’s where I’d like to work my way to, provided it’s something to do with music journalism.
Are you happy with your work/ life balance?
Yeah I guess so. I work really long hours on weekend nights when all my friends are going out which can be frustrating, but I just make time to see them in between uni.
How do you define success?
Not to sound cliché, but for me I think success is working your way to where you want to be, building others up as you go and then I guess having someone to share it all with.
What's your spirit animal?
A leopard. Half my wardrobe is leopard print, classy leopard print, not Snooki leopard print.
