Lauren Kassos
What do you do?
I am a Marketing Coordinator at The Coffee Club

Why do you do it?
Being a part of the marketing team in a growing global company is rewarding because I can do what I love doing everyday — interacting and working with amazing people, constantly learning, being passionate and using my creativity to help people to contribute to a greater outcome. Most of all it makes me happy!

What do you love about the city you live in?
Some people may think that Brisbane is too small, but that is one thing I love most about it — it is an easy place to establish a network and make connections. In Brisbane we have a large Greek community and through this network I have been fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to be involved in the Paniyiri Greek Festival, and in particular The Paniyiri Fashion Parade, an event I look forward to every year!

Where did you go for your last holiday?
My last holiday was a quick trip to Hong Kong last September for the opening of a family friend’s Greek restaurant called Santorini. It was a fantastic trip and there was a healthy balance of shopping, eating, and drinking with great company.

What's your favourite item of clothing? Why?
I don't have one favourite, but anything that's bright, bold and bling is my thing!

What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
‘Full House’. I loved the family dynamic, visitors were always coming and going and there was never a dull moment.

If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
I would go back to Greece so I could see how my grandparents lived.

If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us?
I would put on a fabulous Greek spread cooked by the beautiful women in my family because I haven't mastered their dishes yet.

What's the best lesson you've ever learned?
Funny you ask this because I can speak from a recent experience. Positivity is the key to success; It builds the confidence to believe and visualise your goals and dreams. Once that mindset is in order, everything falls into place and achieving your goals isn't as hard as what you once thought it was!

Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows...
I am obsessed with everything Hello Kitty!

Are you happy with your work/ life balance?
Although most people who know me would answer no to this question I must say that although I do tend to over commit sometimes, I wouldn't have it any other way, being involved in so many positive things is an environment I thrive in. Right now with The Paniyiri Fashion Parade and Festival around the corner there is no such thing as balance but like I said, I wouldn't have it any other way — it's my way of giving back to the community.

How do you define success?
Personally I feel success is defined by happiness. Once you are in a happy place with every aspect of your life everything falls into place, your mind set is clear, your performance is better and your well-being is at an all time high!

What's your spirit animal?
I have no idea, but I did a quiz on Google and it told me I was a deer!
