I take photographs to fuel the egos of rockstars.
Why do you do it?
I love the challenge of being limited by time, anticipating the moment, crossing my fingers for the right light sequence, not being able to give direction and finding a spot the rest of the pit hasn't realised. I love the challenge of catching something special, and I like to show the world what 4101 Brisbane music looks like.
What do you love about the city you live in?
Brisbane has a great balance of opportunity without having to suffer too much attitude. The pond isn't too big, and it isn't too small.
Where did you go for your last holiday?
Holidays often revolve around festivals, for good reason. Woodford or Straddie for Island Vibe might count. If not then we would probably be looking at somewhere in the bush near Kenilworth. Composting over glittering thrones any day.
What's your favourite item of clothing? Why?
I love my boots. Docs for work and taller Docs for play.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
When I was a big kid ‘Liquid Television’ and all the joy that brought.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
If I wasn't going to travel far, I would go back to the day that Bob Marley played at Festival Hall in Brisbane two weeks before I was born. Probably one of the best Wednesdays Brisbane had seen to date.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us?
Whatever it was it would take so long to chop up and prepare that you would all be hungry and grateful.
What's the best lesson you've ever learned?
Once I was able to learn humility I have been unstoppably awesome!
Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows...
Yeah, no.
Are you happy with your work/ life balance?
I have a satisfying list of achievements but also a manageable list of goals, both of which keep me motivated. I love what I do and the people I do it with. I would like to sleep more.
How do you define success?
What you ended up with is as good as or better than what you set out to do.
What's your spirit animal?
I understood green-sea turtles once on a dive when I followed a few and got lost. They were totally in their element and living at their own pace. It was a great lesson in context.
