I'm a music industry professional and I definitely stay busy. I'm a marketing manager and publicist, currently running campaigns for clients like NZ label Meow and Live Nation. I'm also the Live Music/ Entertainment Manager at The B.East in Melbourne, a dream because it's one of my favourite venues.
Why do you do it?
I live, eat and breathe music. I've been in the music industry for over 15 years and I still love it. I go to as many gigs as I can get to, and I've got a serious obsession with constantly adding to my vinyl collection.
What do you love about the city you live in?
Melbourne is one of the best cities for music and arts in the world. We're lucky to have such a talented and vibrant scene. I spent some years living in London and Berlin and while it was great, it made me appreciate the venues, artists and community we've got here even more.
Where did you go for your last holiday?
Nelson in New Zealand, at the top of the South Island. I got to catch up with family and snuck in a meeting with Meow, as well as their band Mako Road, who are just lovely lads. I also managed to get to Sydney and Adelaide recently to catch up with friends.
What's your favourite item of clothing?
Probably my Wipers t shirts, my black jeans, or the fishermans jumpers I picked up in NZ that has been getting me through the Melbourne winter.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid? (If you've got kids, what's your favourite show to watch with them?)
'Astro Boy' and 'Rage' when I was a kid. Now that I've got kids, probably 'Bluey' – was always a bit of a Custard/ Dave McCormack fan.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
Any Goner Fest in Memphis, or maybe an early Meredith or Golden Plains. Or back to Glastonbury so I could watch Leonard Cohen play the sunset slot on the main stage one more time.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us?
You'd probably be safer with take away, but at a stretch I could do a chilli con kanye (chilli con carne with Kanye glasses on top).
What's the best lesson you've ever learned?
Do your research. Learn from your mistakes. And when you go to the Big Day Out, don't choose Killing Heidi over At The Drive-In.
Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows...
I sometimes don't wear black jeans.
Are you happy with your work/ life balance?
Yes. I feel like I've got it pretty down pat these days.
How do you define success?
Happiness.
What's your spirit animal?
A panda. Definitely a panda.
